Where do First Guardians come from and is there any reason for their existence? Does their basic purpose have anything to do with Doc Scratch being a servant of Lord English?

First Guardians are created in Sburb through ectobiology, their purpose being to protect their assigned planet and to oversee its growth.

i was reading prev asks and im sorry if this has been asked before, but considering the summoner has wings (and idk if rufio does or not its been ages since my last reread) would he have been considered a god to trollkind? or because of his low blood caste would they just been like "nah, youre scum mate" and dismissed him? has this ever been answered in comic or by hussie?

Rufioh had them too. But the Summoner was definitely revered. He lead a rebellion after all so he had to at least have some type of charisma. I’m sure if he had been a highblood he would have been seen even more as a god figure.

Well for starters he literally would beat the shit out of Dave all the time. Dave grew up surrounded by plush puppet porn for pete’s sake. Dave had to hide food in his room. That’s just the first few things to come to mind but there are more.

Do you believe Bro was under the influence of Lil Cal? I don't believe so because of his shades? Since eyes are the door way to the soul, maybe the Striders closed that connection off with their shades so they couldn't be influenced?

I don’t believe he was being controlled, but he spent a lifetime with Cal so I doubt he escaped influence entirely even with his shades. Being influenced by Cal didn’t cause his abusive tendencies as Dirk has been shown to possess a few of them himself and his Cal was empty, but it likely did enhance them and make them worse. However, even if Cal influenced his behavior that still doesn’t excuse the abuse he put Dave through.

sorry if this has been asked before, but i'm not quite sure how the alpha kids got into their planets - i thought sprites were what initiated the location change?

No, Sprites influence the Battlefield and underlings. Breaking the cruxite artifact is what initiates the location change.

Hussie explained on his formspring (before the Summoner was revealed I believe) that trolls gain wings as their godtier because in their culture it's universally accepted that godlike beings would have wings. They grow wings as part of their vision of achieving literal godhood. Humanity does not have a universally accepted idea of what a god looks like and so human players do not change appearance to fit their idea of a god.

I was going back to read some old scenes of homestuck and I had some issues because of the retcon stuff so I was wondering if it's still possible to read homestuck with preretcon stuff or is the comic itself altered to only retcon ?

The story in its entirely has changed with little oil and hands spread throughout it. The points that John travels to and messes with stuff have two paths and you can only read the post-retcon path of you have the password from later on in the story.

(Psst, snartled is probably talking about the time Dirk let the glitches get to him. It was sort of unexpected. He did it because he couldn't save Jake in the doomed timeline right?)

as shown in the beginning of homestuck a single layer of prototyping results in a still useless sprite, so why is tavrosprite not like this, is it because he is a sentient being? this would explain becsprite and also applies to rosesprite

It may be because he’s a sentient creature. Becquerel is sentient and so is Rose so that may be why they’re a full sprite and not a floating circle. The harlequin doll and the crow Dave accidentally prototyped were also both prototyped pre-entry so that may be why they were a floating circle for a while.
