Is it true that what's only truly canon is straight from Hussie? Like there's that discourse on Joey's sexuality, and some of the dev team decided to weigh in on the situation on twitter. Idk, I'm always confused.

Yeah, true canon comes either in the story or straight from the Hussie’s mouth. Anyone else is just stating headcanon.

in hiveswap, would it be considered a prequel or a sequel of homestuck? (i didnt notice a mention of specific year in the game, but im still assuming its a prequel?)

It’s set in 1994 (it mentions that several times in game not sure how you missed it) so technically it’s a prequel

Are we sure that the Roxy in hiweswap is the same Roxy we meet in homestuck? If so did she babysit Jude & Joey before or after playing the game?

Roxy from B1 as in Mom Lalonde, not Roxy from B2, the one we met in Act 6

Remind me, was there ever a definite answer given on "are vriska's powers just weak on humans, or are they just weaker trying to target someone is a different Universe"?

It’s a prequel spin-off. It canonically takes place before Homestuck
