Can I just take this moment to say that I love how sassy The Other One is, because I do. You're awesome. ^^

madeofporq

Thanks!

I’m sure you’re pretty awesome as well.  I mean, that’s mostly speculation because I know nothing about you.  But you like that I’m sassy, so my speculation is by no means baseless.

Andrew why are you such a weirdo?

Anonymous

Are you lost?

The double spacing at the beginning of sentences doesn't really help the length thing

Anonymous

I can put double spaces after a full stop if I so please.  The ‘length thing’ is not a problem that needs to be helped.  I am perfectly content with the voluminosity of my replies.

You type so much longer responses than mod F and mod L, why?!

Anonymous

There’s this new thing that they just discovered.  Oh man, it’s gonna blow your pants off when you hear it.  Are you ready?  No you’re not.  But I’m gonna tell you anyway.  Please try to contain yourself:

Sometimes, people are different from eachother.

CRAZY, RIGHT?!? I didn’t believe it when I first heard it.  But now the whole world is starting to make more sense!  Gosh, I feel so foolish for having gone around most of my life thinking that everyone was identical to everyone else.

-the other one

Wow are people really arguing over this. I just-- wow.

kungfucockcrusher

Not really.  I can see where they’re coming from, to be honest.  But I disagree.  And that’s just part of life, you know?  If everyone thought the same way about everything humanity would have probably died out already.

People’s thoughts being challenged is vital.  Granted, in most of those exchanged no one’s mind changes.  But as far as I can see, it’s not so much an argument.  It’s an argument if you take out the negative connotation of “argument”.

Just curious... Is "the other one" a Discworld reference? Regarding a coven of witches? (Because that would be SO COOL!)

askjusticeandmercy-blog

No, I’m sorry.  It’s a reference to an anon who apparently forgot the severely complex name “Mod A” and referenced me in the context “mod L, mod F, and the other one” and I thought I’d be a clever little douchebag and go by that.

-the other one

You have a point about not dismissing anything as "irrelevant to the comic", but Anon has a point too: if this blog is called "Forgotten HS Facts", the *facts* should be things that were known some time ago, but then were *forgotten*. The blog isn't called "Facts you never knew about HS" or "Assorted HS facts". No one has the right to tell you people what to post, but consistency tends to be desirable.

wendel

True, but we now enter the realm of debating what exactly constitutes a “fact”.  A debate, which can be extended indefinitely, and even if we were to come to some solution, this is not exactly the forum in which such analysis would be appropriate.

So, while I do not hold any sort of jurisdiction over said realm of discussion, I do hold a certain power over this blog, along with Mod F and Mod L.  That power being what gets posted.

And a certain power also goes to the mass population of submitters, because that is a large part of what helps this blog run.  So *someone* obviously thinks that each fact is worth a second look, and took the time to create a post for it, whether it be a submitter, or one of the mods.

-the other one

Intense respect for that fucking awesome slam.

Well thank you.

yknow a lot of these facts arent really what this blog is about. it's completely irrelevant to the comic whether terezi wears shoes while she sleeps, or what photo hussie used for jade's gun. these are actual things that are relevant to the plot line or just small things that are important that you might have forgotten you know?

Anonymous

Thank you for your wisdom, o’ Great One.  Clearly you know better than us what this blog is about with your slightly ambiguous message, shrouded by the security blanket of anonymity.  A shrine should be erected in your honour for gathering up the generosity to inform us of our folly.  I wipe the egg off my face and salute your towering understanding of relevancy.

But in all seriousness, some of the facts that you have flagged as irrelevant maintain their place on this blog nonetheless.  Others may refer to them for reasons other than yours.  While one person browses this blog for plot-related information they may have missed, another may be looking for humourous things to include in a roleplay.  And other reasons yet.  Denying facts that are not plot-related would potentially rob a person of some interesting tidbit of knowledge that they may have fun musing over.

Furthermore, this blog is for fun.  Getting all seriousface about Homestuck is… kind of stupid.  It is a webcomic.  On the internet.  In which a lot of stupid extraneous shit takes place.  While I enjoy the plot of Homestuck, I also enjoy the weird, pointless antics that go down irrelevant to Large Overarching Plot shenanigans.  So if someone wants to submit a fact about Terezi’s shoe-status, who the fuck am I to decide that that’s “irrelevant” to Homestuck?  That is not an authority that I am in any position to hold.  And, you know, it’s all part of the goddamn fun.

hussie said all fantrolls and fankids are canon. even the shitty ones. (sorry i can't find the source!)

Anonymous

As much as I’d love to make that into a fact (and believe me, I would) I’m pretty sure we’d get hounded with “omg guys he wasn’t being serious.”

Also, I think he said that in one of his answers posts.
