I don't think there's anything wrong with anyone's ask considering that that's half of what I follow a blog for. I mean, who knows if it's an important ask and if you block it you may miss something important!

You could answer questions and then go back after a little while and delete unimportant ones so there aren't pages upon pages of mostly-irrelevant questions :/

I see no problems with having pages of questions though, if people just want to see facts then all they have to do is click the button on the sidebar.

you could close the ask box and open it for a certain amount of time, i think that'd be a good idea so rather than just flooding peoples dashboards with answers you would periodically answer them at certain times.

I guess that IS a good idea, but what if someone has an important question, and the ask box isn’t open? Plus some people submit WITH the ask box, so it isn’t too much of a good idea. Thanks for ideas, though!
