It’s supposed to be like Karkat’s session except they actually walk through the last door instead of it getting cut in half.

Basically, the players have to go through seven gates to reach Skaia where they can face the Black King who is supposed to be the final boss and then make their new universe. Thus why there are seven gates between each planet and Skaia.
