He needed to be alive to fulfill the timeloop. If Gamzee died then Lord English wouldn’t exist since Gamzee setup Caliborn’s home, created ARquiusprite and became part of English himself.
If Cal's existance is basically just a circle that just starts over and over again, does that mean that there could be multiple Caliborns/Gamzees/Equiuses inside that puppet??? Or am I missing something, cuz that don't exactly sound right...

Lil Cal’s timeline splits during the Scratch so there are two Lil’ Cals at the same time and the souls can’t go into both so they go into one and the other one is empty. The one with the souls has it’s eyes ripped out and is probably destroyed and the one without them get the souls put in by Dirk.

Yes, where his timeline splits being sent back with ectobaby Dirk. Pre-scratch Cal keeps the souls and Post-scratch didn’t. This is probably due to the fact that two of the same juju can’t exist at the same time without of one them being an illusion or doomed to be destroyed.
so then when DS tells Karkat not to turn his back on the body is the Equius warning him to not let Gamzee steal the bodies?
I think it’s more of a call back to Caliborn’s fight with the Alpha kids where he turned his back then one of the bodies got back up. Which would happen with Kanaya.

Does the clown magic mean Gamzee will regrow his other-half (Considering the amount of times he should have died) and there'll be two Gamzees?
After the upd8 we can know that the reason that Gamzee was actually immortal was because he had to be there to get his soul sucked into Lil Cal and become part of Lord English. So now that that’s happened Gamzee shouldn’t be immortal anymore.
