It has never been canon. In [s] Caliborn: Enter there’s a dead John and Dave standing next to each other and people insisted they were together as desperate shippers tend to do but there’s no real evidence to support that.

Tavros won’t be going with since he’s grounded. As for the Jake/Slick meeting I see two possibilities. Either A) he gains an ally like you suggested or B) Jake mentions his last name is English and Slick tries to beat him up.

Spades Slick is from the trolls session. He is currently in command of the Felt and works against Lord English but mostly his interests are money.
