hey so one thing thats bugging me- how did ARquiusprite release the grist hoard for the Ultimate Alchemy when the hoard is supposed to be guarded by the denizens and only unlocked upon their death

I don't really understand the john's dad/ jane's dad character. Like dave's bro is Dirk and jade's grandpop is Jake and Rose's mom is roxy but john's dad/ jane's dad never has a different scratch self. can you explain him to me?
