What actually happened on the three year journey?? Was there time shenanigans? I seem to remember rose and Dave on the meteor and jade and John on the ship but apparently that didn't happen?

In the post-retcon timeline Jade was alone for three years since post-retcon John and Davesprite died when Typheus destroyed Lowas. Typheus did this because he knew pre-retcon John would arrive in the new timeline with his Lowas. The only change for the meteor crew was Vriska was alive.

sorry to be a bother but what is dirks status in the Pre-retcon timeline as he didn't arrive until the fight was over, correct me if im wrong with this tenement please

He teleported to the Medium and took Dad Egbert and Rose’s mom to the Battlefield and then got Jade’s dead dreamself and took it back through the portals to Earth and had it preserved via taxidermy.

what exactly is gamzee's role in the story? i know he is a bad guy and a subjuggulator, but isn't he also some kind of higher being???

Gamzee has plot armor since he’ll eventually become a part of Lord English so nothing can happen to him until that point.
