The Black King along with all Dersites do not want a new universe to be made and that’s why he initiates the Reckoning, so that Skaia will be destroyed and it can’t be used to grow the frog.

I'm so sorry I cannot provide a source right now because it is late at night where I live and I should be sleeping, but I think recall Vriska saying that on the new Earth she would throw Gamzee into the ocean at some point? And I think maybe she said something about how it would create life in the sea although this all may be incorrect and from vivid dreams please don't hate me I just thought I should bring it up incase it is true.
