From a players POV if you die and your dream self takes over do you wake up in the furthest ring as a ghost or is your consciousness transferred into your dream selfs body. I'm asking because in Terezi reme8er we see John and dirk ( not game over versions) dead.

Both technically. Up until that point your dreamself and normal self shared a consciousness, dying splits it, or duplicates it so each body gets a copy
