Remember time works differently in the Furthest Ring. The creation of the Green Sun was relative to Rose and Dave traveling there. So before they got there it had always existed but once they created it, that was the origin. Sorry if my explanation is weird, the mechanics of the Furthest Ring are difficult to clarify.
