Hephaestus doesn’t light it, my mistake, the Space player does. But it always needs to be lite. It melted the snow in Jade’s land and dried up the water in Kanaya’s.

Rose’s hatched because it had both prototypings done and Jade’s was a special prototyping so it also was allowed to hatch early.
