Post retcon Sollux never became part of Erisolsprite since he didn’t exist post retcon. So he stayed half dead and half blind instead of alive and half blind.

So @shelbycragg was commissioned to draw Trickster Roxy as Calliope and after the fact they decided to draw the rest of the Alphas in trickster mode as some fun fanart and then Hussie was just like, “yeah, lets use those”, made a few tweaks and that’s how the Trickster kids were designed and came to be.
