How exactly were the alpha and beta trolls created? If they're not clones of each other, how are the dancestors related?

Karkat’s group are clones of themselves while Meenah’s group is a mishmash of the trolls from Karkat’s group.

What would happen if someone fell asleep after their moon (Prospit/Derse) blew up/Got destroyed? Like with the trolls. Can they still sleep or would it be bad for them to sleep?

Is Tavrosprite the same version of Tavros that went treasure hunting with Vriska? I know most of the pre retcon characters were erased but Treasure Hunting!Tavros was in the dream bubbles at the time, which seems to be unaffected by the retcon
