I don’t think people legitimately hate him for that. People in every fandom complain when the writers do something nasty to their favorite characters. Luckily in homestuck death doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t see a character again.

According to old man Hussie himself, two things about the update schedule moving forward:
- A couple updates were collapsed, so the eight predicted updates are really seven now.
- The weekend of the Great Hug Bump of 2015 will be updateless - the last two updates before the Omegapause will be Monday and Tuesday (Which may be Sunday and Monday in reality, depending on your timezone, as has been the trend of late!)
However, the pre-endgame stuff (by which we presume he means Pretty Much The Breadth Of A6A6I5) won’t be over after these two updates! Rather, Hussie has chosen a “nice place to leave off that doesn’t feel too cliffhangery” for the last update pre-Omegapause, and “another stetch of pages more in the vein of escalating material” will be posted after it, such as to make it closer to the “very significant animation project” which will follow.
More will be said about the pause after it officially begins!

some friends don't believe me. Can you find some proof that acts 1-5 was about a day for the kids and a few hours for the trolls?

It was just over one day for the kids
Act 5 Act 1 (aka Hivebent) was over the course of about three weeks though. And the trolls were on the meteor talking to the kids for only a number of hours.
I need to ask an important question; who's your favorite, Equius Zahhak or ARquiusprite.
