i was looking at the family chart and it says grandpa harley is mom lalondes adopted father?? can i ask where that happened lol

Ah, yeah, that was me jumping the gun a bit. It’s canon that Mom was raised in Grandpa Harley’s Skaianet building and there was a some evidence pointing at her being raised by Grandpa Harley.

With the release of Hiveswap we see she definitely had contact with Pa Harley but we don’t really have any insight into her life or childhood. But given that we know she lived in the skaianet building even if Pa Harley didn’t have a hand in raising her, he likely had a direct influence on her during childhood.

did you know the /r/hiveswap discord is constantly shit talking you over dumb stuff like mentioning hetero ships? I thought you should know

Thanks but I really did not need to know that

You said that the Trolls weren't cannibalistic and that there were different kinds of grubs. I was always under the impression that all grubs were troll grubs and that they killed them en masse for food, cosmetics, etc. Do you have any examples or statements from the Trolls supporting your stance? Not saying your wrong, just wondering what I missed.

There are a couple different types of grubs.

Here we see an instance of a Grub used as a game

Sollux also has several grubs on his floor that he refers to as games

We can also assume there is also a type of Grub that is used as food, as we’ve heard of Grubsauce, Grubsteak, Grubloaf. We also see Grubpizza in Hiveswap as well as some unnamed grub food left out in Dammek’s hive.

And Then of course there’s Grubs as in Baby trolls and the Mother Grubs

What was honestly the point of the Vast glub being a power? When would that have been a GOOD idea to use???

Anonymous

Well the Vast Glub is just the attack at its most powerful, lesser powerful version could be used to target lowbloods exclusively which made it easier to keep them subservient or to use as a last ditch effort if rebellions grew too out of hand.

I forget, what is the vast glub again?

Anonymous

It’s a psychic attack that Glubglub does when it speaks, it kills pretty much every troll except Fuchsia Bloods

I'm confused how the vast glub has anything to do with Fef when it's the Condense's lusus???

Anonymous

It’s also Feferi’s lusus, and the Vast Glub happened in Hivebent it was while Feferi was preparing to enter the game

Does Xefros' sign have a real-world equivalent, similar to the trolls signs being the zodiac?

trepidatiousgamer

I did some preliminary research but I can’t find anything on it. I think a lot of the newer trolls’ symbols are original

i know, i just feel like the fuchsia genepool is smaller, so having the same horns would make sense, especially if it's carried on the same gene as the blood color (which would make sense with the whole ancestor thing- your base traits are from a set of genes from your ancestor) ALSO its mentioned in canon that signs are assigned based on birth date, which makes me wonder if the blood colors hatch in a certain order?

Anonymous

I can’t find anything in canon saying they get them based on their “birth day”, just that each caste has their own large array of signs. If you can find where it mentions that signs are assigned base on birthdays please share.

aren't all fuchsias related, seeing as there can only be two alive at a time, therefore the gene that gives them the bloodcolor being fairly standard across bloodlines? even despite the other trolls mixing in. or is it some sort of genetic mutation that leads to a fuchsia being born?

Anonymous

Okay, All trolls are basically related since everyone’s juices just get mixed together. When I talk about trolls being related I mean like majority of genetic material, ancestor/descendant level related.

ok but why Trizza has the same horns as Feferi and Condy?

Anonymous

Trolls can not be related and have the same kinda horns
